Fairfield County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
This holiday season Sheriff Montgomery would like to remind our citizens about our Safe Exchange Zone for online purchases and other consumer to consumer direct exchange purchases.
Although we have not had any incidents reported involving purchase exchanges this year, we want to remind our citizens about our secure location.
The Safe Exchange Zone is located in front of the Sheriff’s Office at 350 Columbia road.
The Safe Exchange Zone is available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and offers video surveillance at all times.
The Sheriff also encourages the use of this Safe Exchange Zones by parents and guardians who have concerns regarding child custody transfers.
This is another effort to provide services that improve the safety of our citizens in Fairfield county.
