Of the 40,438 people living in Lancaster in 2020, 50.5 percent (20,439) were women and 49.5 percent (19,999) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Fairfield Reporter.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 593. In the 65 and over age range, there were 4,222 females and 2,829 males.
