Congressman Troy Balderson, who represents Ohio’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted tributes and condolences on his social media account regarding the passing of John Penton and Charlie Kirk.
On September 8, 2025, Balderson commemorated a prominent figure in American motorcycling, stating, "John Penton was a true legend of American motorcycling and a pioneer of off-road racing. His innovations, spirit, and passion for riding will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, John."
Two days later, on September 10, 2025, Balderson made a brief appeal to his followers: "Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk." Later that same day, he posted a message honoring Kirk's legacy: "Charlie Kirk was a passionate conservative who championed debate and discussion to change hearts and minds. He was a patriot who loved his country and continually reminded us of the principles of freedom and opportunity that unite us as Americans.

Troy Balderson has served as the U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 12th District since 2018 after succeeding Pat Tiberi. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2009 to 2011 and then in the Ohio Senate from 2011 to 2018. Born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1962, Balderson continues to reside there at age 61.
