State Senator Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) has announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved more than $3.18 million in funding for projects in Fairfield County.
The allocation includes $2,784,360 from the State Disaster Relief Program to help local governments cover recovery costs after flooding and severe storms that occurred between July 26 and July 28, 2025. An additional $400,000 will support the purchase and renovation of a new facility for Harcum House.
“I am proud to see the state Controlling Board release these much-needed funds to Fairfield County for flood recovery assistance,” Schaffer said. “I am also proud to have voted for this funding that will allow for Harcum House to purchase and renovate a new facility that will help provide critical support to Fairfield County’s most vulnerable children.”
The funding was made available through state capital appropriations legislation, specifically House Bill 2 passed during the 135th General Assembly in June 2024, as well as the state operating budget under House Bill 96 during the 136th General Assembly. Details about these appropriations are available on the Controlling Board website.
