Ryan Jenkins announced his resignation on Sept. 9, 2022. Jenkins will become Treasurer at Olentangy Local Schools on Oct. 1. Jenkins has been a highly valued leader on the district’s administrative team since 2013.
Jenkins said, “Pickerington is a fantastic place, and when I came here with my wife Kim in 2013, Zach, my oldest, was a third grader and Drew, my youngest, was a first grader. My son Drew will still be graduating as a North Panther next year.
I will continue to live in the Pickerington community. I have grown fond of many people and wish nothing but success for the community at large. It was a hard decision but I look forward to new opportunities at Olentangy Local Schools. I will deeply miss the friendships and working relationships that I’ve forged for the last 9-1/2 years in the Pickerington community.”
Board President Vanessa Niekamp said, “Mr. Jenkins and I both joined PLSD in leadership roles at roughly the same time. It will be hard for me to imagine being there without him. We are fortunate at Pickerington Schools to have an extremely experienced leadership team and can’t be surprised when other districts recruit them. Filling this role with the best possible candidate in school finance is a high priority for the board.”
“I’ve enjoyed working with Mr. Jenkins during my tenure as superintendent,” said Superintendent Dr. Chris Briggs. “I’m indebted to Ryan for his assistance during my transition into the role at Pickerington Schools. I am looking forward to building a new relationship with the next treasurer that helps us continue our strategic commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency.”
The board and the superintendent will work collaboratively to fill this important leadership role in the district.
